WHO DIS?
Brendan Murphy is a London based actor, writer and voice over artist.
He attended drama school at Arts Ed London where he gained a BA (Hons) in Acting before going on to train in improvisation with David Shore (Second City, Improv Olympic) and The Free Association, and was nominated for the Spotlight Prize.
An experienced improviser, Brendan is a member of BBC Radio One's BattleActs! and a guest player for Second City and Monkey Toast Players. He has taught improv to students at his alma mater Arts Ed London and The Orange Tree Theatre.
He's written and performed three solo comedy shows: BAGMAN (Pleasance, 2015), Enter The Bagman (Gilded Balloon, 2016) and FRIEND (The One With Gunther) (Pleasance 2019, UK & Australian Tour 2020). Other writing credits include ‘The Mawaan & Emily Show’ (BBC Asian Network), ‘SO! Beano’ (Sky Kids) and ‘The Crooners’ (Pleasance, 2018) with co-writer Kiell Smith-Bynoe. He also contributed additional material for the pilot of ‘Borderline’ (Netflix).
His voice can be heard in Doctor Who (BBC / Big Finish), the critically acclaimed audio book The Land Of Sometimes (and upcoming feature film adaptation alongside Ewan McGregor and Helena Bonham Carter); video games such as Total War: Warhammer and Elite: Dangerous, and introducing cartoons for Cartoon Network, as well as commercials for a variety of global brands.
As one half of the Olivier Award nominated Potted Potter, he has toured extensively across the US and Canada including a residency at Bally's, Las Vegas, which won Best New Show in the Best Of Las Vegas Awards 2019.
