WHO DIS?
Brendan Murphy is a London based actor, writer and voice over artist.
He attended drama school at Arts Ed London, where he gained a BA (Hons) in Acting and was nominated for the Spotlight Prize, before going on to train in improvisation with David Shore (Second City, Improv Olympic) and The Free Association.
An experienced improviser, Brendan is a member of BBC Radio One's BattleActs! and a guest player for Second City and Monkey Toast Players. He has taught improv to students at his alma mater Arts Ed London and The Orange Tree Theatre.
Regularly performing in the Olivier Award nominated Potted Potter, he has toured extensively across the US and Canada including a residency at Bally's, Las Vegas, which won Best New Show in the Best Of Las Vegas Awards 2019.
His solo parody show FRIEND (The One With Gunther) was the winner of Best Play at the Worldwide Comedy Awards and Buffy: ReVamped will be on tour over 2023. Other writing credits include ‘The Mawaan & Emily Show’ (BBC Asian Network), ‘SO! Beano’ (Sky Kids) and ‘The Crooners’ (Pleasance, 2018) with co-writer Kiell Smith-Bynoe. He also contributed additional material for the pilot of ‘Borderline’ (Netflix).
Brendan is a co-creator & writer on NonCensored with Rosie Holt, a weekly satirical comedy podcast, also playing the role of Producer Martin - alongside host Rosie Holt & regular contributor Eshaan Akbar.
His voice can be heard in Doctor Who (BBC / Big Finish) , the critically acclaimed audio book The Land Of Sometimes (and upcoming feature film adaptation alongside Ewan McGregor and Helena Bonham Carter) as well as the video games Total War: Warhammer and Elite: Dangerous. He can also be heard introducing cartoons on Cartoon Network & Boomerang TV, as well as voicing commercials for a variety of global brands.
Theatre credits include: The Crown Dual (UK & US Tour), Twelfth Night (Orange Tree), The Adventure (Royal Exchange), King Kong: A Comedy (Vault Theatre), Knightmare Live (Udderbelly Southbank) and Accomplice (Menier Chocolate Factory).
Screen credits include: Man Vs. Bee (Netflix), Broadchurch (ITV), Sky Comedy Shorts (Sky Arts), Jenny Bede: AAA (BBC), SO Beano (Sky Kids) and Spiderman: Far From Home (Marvel Studios).
