On the first day in the Empire State we dropped by The Peoples Improv Theatre on Harold Night and happened upon two excellent teams 'Lovers' and 'The Jean Pool'. Top notch improv and a lovely start to my visit.
I was also very happy to get tickets to the Upright Citizens Brigade's ASSSSCAT 3000. Interesting to hear them talking about the British improv scene in terms of long-form "only just reaching there this year". Hopefully with a bit more attention on UK improv that will be quickly disproved, still a great night out and a real treat to see such a slick team.
The final theatrical offering came in the form of The Lion - A new musical by Benjamin Scheuer. I laughed, I cried, and then I had a coughing fit. A fantastic show.
Back to London just in time for BattleActs! kicking off at The Vault Festival from 18th February - 1st March. A lovely reception in a great venue that got us all riled up and excited for Edinburgh.
